I travel, I practice yoga, I love my dogs, I listen to podcasts, I teach, and I research. But how did I get here? We might as well have an existential crisis on the About page.
After a wonderful career in the world of integrated marketing communications, I decided to leave corporate America to run my corporate photography business full-time. While enjoying my business and the flexibility of setting my own schedule, I had the opportunity to teach one of my favorite subjects at my undergrad alma mater and immediately fell in love with academia. I began my doctoral work in August of 2016 and completed my Ph.D. in Mass Communications with a certificate in Women and Gender Studies at the University of South Carolina in May of 2020. I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, in early 2021 to begin a new chapter as Assistant Professor of Advertising and Public Relations in the College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Go Huskers!
